Europa Universalis 4 Ancient Mod
Imperium Universalis is another total conversion mod worth mentioning. This mod is unique in that its primary focus is geared towards the ancient world, specifically the 7th century BC. For ancient history buffs, this mod offers enough to satisfy their interests.
europa universalis 4 ancient mod
The year is 1444. The Fourth and final Lilac War is over. Immeasurable Lorentish and Anbennarian blood has been spilled, but peace has returned to the Empire under the Rose Party. The House of Silioriel keeps its grip on the throne of Lorent, and has finally defeated its ancient enemies the Grand Duchy of Dameria. Lothane III of Wex now sits the Imperial throne, the profits of his betrayal of the House of Silmuna and his imperial Allies. Trouble brews on the horizon for the victorious kingdom, though, as the Kingdom of Gawed, the ancient enemies of the Lorent, look south, hungry to seize the lucrative borderlands in the Small Country from the war-torn realm.
In the west, the mournful elves of Venail look out at the waves and remember the ages they spent upon them, desperate and searching. They dream of a return to the land long lost, the land they once called home. Aelantir awaits for those bold-- or foolhardy-- enough to claim it, though Aelantir is not just a new homeland. In ancient temples and crumbling ruins hide secrets long forgotten-- secrets that threaten to upturn the secular and religious order of Cannor.
Far beneath the petty concerns of the humans or elves, the stalwart Dwarves wage an endless war against the ancient enemy. Though the greentide emptied the caverns of the orcs, stragglers and roaming warbands-- not to mention the native goblins-- still haunt the crevices and roads of the Dwarovar, skirmishing and raiding. The Dwarves, in ancient holds or in adventuring bands, test the waters, opening the gates and starting to reclaim their long lost homeland. Every Dwarf-- from Rubyhold to Ovdal Kanzad-- chases that same dream-- Aul Dwarov, the Empire of Dwarves.
I really don't want to discourage you, but honestly it's pretty hard to do a project that ambitious since there are no accurate informations about ancient history (yes there are many informations but none are very accurate). Second of all, et gets pretty boring at some point, I would love to see what good things can you provide to make the game more interesting without destroying people's CPU XD. And at last I think there is already a mod that does that called The First Civilizations...Anyways, I'd love to help you :)
First (of three planned) - There is a small chance that those who are On Hajj or On Pilgrimage in the East (Jerusalem, Antioch, or Axum) will be become lost in a sandstorm and meet an old man in an ancient temple.
The modification moves the action of the game to ancient times, enabling us to start playing in 612 BC. To realize this idea practically all elements of the game had to be changed. Imperium Universalis offers a thoroughly reworked map, new factions, characters, units, technologies and events. There are also significant changes in the gameplay mechanics to better reflect the realities of this particular historical period.
There is an extensive mission tree, a small book's worth of event text, unique decisions, two new religions - with two more from vanilla being edited for the purposes of the mod - and three new culture groups. To the north are the remnants of the Viking colonies, long since reverted to paganism with their own, somewhat more limited mission tree as well as their own unique decisions and flavor events. To the south the Central American jungles will become the home of a splinter group of the Elysians, modeled after the ancient Spartans. There have been stated plans to add two Persian nations coming from the opposite side, to help give more of a challenge to the Elysians, and ideas have been tossed around to add a smaller Chinese exile accompanying the Persians.
The fun of EU4, like many Paradox Interactive games, comes from being able to explore and change history. With this mod, you can do so from the start of our era to a thousand years into the future. Claim rule over ancient Rome and try to maintain it, beat back the Mongol invasion of Europe, take part in the crusades or the 3 kingdoms war in China, or go all the way to the modern era. You can do all of this and so much more with this mod today.
